Award-winning STEM speaker and entrepreneur who helps students and educators to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with the integration of the arts (STEAM) disciplines through workshops and other forms of professional development in emerging STEM industries.
Campaign Overview
Objective:
In 2021, UMGMT was tasked with developing a strategic campaign for Dr. Jalaal Hayes in conjunction with the release of his documentary, Exploding Dreams: A STEAM Story. The campaign required both the execution of a private movie screening and the securing of media coverage that would position Dr. Hayes as a leading voice in STEM education and Black innovation.

Private Screening Activation
We hosted an exclusive screening of Exploding Dreams: A STEAM Story at AMC Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, curating a guest list that included educators, students, press, and STEM advocates to build local buzz and deepen community engagement. -
Narrative Positioning & Media Outreach
We strategically positioned Dr. Hayes’ inspiring story—graduating with two bachelor’s degrees by 18 and earning his Ph.D. at 22—as both a celebration and a call to action for representation in STEM. Press outreach centered around the documentary’s release and Dr. Hayes' role as a changemaker and youth advocate.
